Important Note

This tech support topic applies to the old Cliptures floppy disks and versions of Windows prior to Windows XP. We have not sold the floppy disk versions of any Cliptures volumes in well over 5 years and no longer support them. We do have some customers still running older versions of Windows 3 and Windows 95. The information below may work if you have an older computer system and an old version of PrintShop. We continue to keep this information in our tech support archives in case it is of benefit to anyone but we no longer even have systems old enough to do any further testing or tech support for these older systems and software.

Question:

I'm using Print Shop Premiere 5. How do I access the Cliptures libraries?

Answer:

Print Shop Premier 5 does not access Print Shop format libraries in the same way as earlier versions of Print Shop which has confused some long time users. Instead of individual libraries, Premier 5 has 1 large file which contains all of its own graphics. Premier 5 will still read standard Print Shop SQUARE, ROW, and COLUMN format libraries, but the way you access them is a little different.

Here's how:

1. Start the Print Shop Premier program and then start any kind of Print Shop project as you normally would.

2. From the "Insert" menu go to the "Graphic" command and click on "All" from the sub-menu. This will open the "Select a Graphic" window.

3. Click on the button called "Other". A "file dialog" window will open. (If you used the Cliptures Installer program's suggested location when you installed the Cliptures files, you should see a folder called "Clipture" inside the Print Shop Premier folder.) Locate the Clipture folder, click on it so that it is highlighted and click on the "Open" button.

Note: Step 3 assumes you have installed a current version of one or more of the Cliptures libraries with your Premiere 5 program and that you have done an "Install for Print Shop" installation from the Cliptures install program menu. If you have installed the Cliptures libraries in some other place on your hard disk, you will need to navigate to the directory or folder where the Cliptures libraries are installed.

4. Once you have opened the Clipture folder, you should see the names of the Cliptures libraries. Select a library by clicking on its name and then clicking the "Open" button.

5. Print Shop will now display the names for the individual graphics within the library. When you click on any of the graphic names, you will see a preview of that graphic on the right side of the screen.

6. Select the graphic you want to use and click on the "OK" button. You will now be returned to the main layout screen with the graphic you selected on your page!
